Mario Kart 7 Review (3DS)
LETS-A-GO
_
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Features: Streetpass, Spotpass, Online, Gyro Sensor, Download Play
Genre: Racing
For: 3DS
Game-play:
If you have never played a Mario Kart game then you have to be living under a rock. The racing in Mario Kart 7 feels fresh and smooth, and doesn't feel broken. Even with the 3D on, the frame rate doesn't slow down. The game also offers a great online mode, which also rarely slows down or has any lag at all. New to online is that you can start communities, which lets you race in groups, and send messages (ones that are already made). If you have Spotpass and Streetpass turned on, then you can receive ghost data, racer info, and communities. In multiplayer and online you can play your average racing matches, balloon battle, and collect the coins. New to the game is of course the ability to race in water, and glide in the air. The new elements really feel nice, but when you swim underwater it kinda slows down the gameplay. Another thing also new is that you can customize your own karts, but you can only pick your kart body, wheels, and glider. You can also go on a first person point of view which lets you use the motion controllers, though it does feel a little bit too sensitive. This game also has 32 courses, and a disappointing 17 characters. I wished they had much more characters, I mean, Mario Kart Wii had 25 if I remember. Other then that fault, the game-play is fun.
Graphics:
The graphics in Mario Kart 7 look very colorful. As I said before even with the 3D on the frame rate still runs smoothly. The graphics almost look like the Wii Mario Kart. The visuals in the tracks are creative and make racing on them more enjoyable. The models for the racers look a little bit clay-like up close, but still look nice. With that said the graphics look nice, but not the best for the 3DS.
Sound:
The music in this game sounds very cheerful, and doesn't sound awful. My favorite background song has to be the SNES Rainbow Road song. The sound effects almost don't sound that annoying. I say almost because Toad and Daisy are annoying. I hate Toad . I also hate that blue shell sound, because I know it's coming... Oh yeah, overall the sound is nice.
Controls:
To use an item you use the L or X button. To steer you use the circle pad. To go to a first person point of view you use the top button on the d-pad. To hop/drift you use the R button. To accelerate use the Y/A button. To brake use the B button. And finally to pause use the START button. I actually never had an problem with the controls, and it's very easy to master them. Overall the controls also feel smooth, though the motion controls when you use the first person point of view does feel a little bit too sensitive.
Final Verdict:
Overall the gameplay is very enjoyable, and will make you want to paly over and over again. My only fault with it is the lack of characters.
+ Good Online

- Lack of Characters
Overall - 9.1/10

Shinobi Review (3DS)
Ninja's are Awesome! :D
_Publisher: Sega
Developer: Griptonite
Features: Streetpass
Genre: 2-D Platforming
For: 3DS
Introduction:
When I bought this game I was worrying about whether or not this would be a good game. The reason I was worrying is because Griptonite usually develops really bad movie based games for handhelds. So is this game bad, you have to wait to find out
Game-play:
This game is a 2-D platformer, and a decent one at best. You go around your environment defeating bad guys, and of course jumping. You also gain health by eating chicken ! The levels themselves take about 10 - 20 minutes to beat, and they are checkpoints across the levels'. Around the middle or end of the levels' you fight some awesome boss fights too! Sometimes in stages you can ride horses or even surf. This game can be really hard in the highest difficulty settings, so watch out :O. The game itself has TONS of unlockables like achievements, concept art, movies, and cheats you can use in freeplay, like a golden axe (That game is awesome ;D). You also have these challenge maps, which ups the replay value, and are very hard because one hit and you are dead. The gameplay itself is very solid, and can be very fun
Graphics:
Graphically the game looks like a DS game with 3D, but visually it looks very nice. The graphics look a bit cel-shaded in a way. You also have anime cut-scenes, throughout the game. The game can be played in 3D, but doesn't enhance the gameplay. Thou the 3D can help you in the horse and surfing stages, by telling the distance. Even if the game looks like a DS game in a way, the graphics are still decent.
Sound:
I didn't really care for the sound. The music you hear in this game is like a typically ninja movie. The sound effects don't sound horrible too. The music in this game TO me is forgettable.
Controls:
The controls are easy to master, but wall jumping can annoying at times. You can tilt the 3DS in the surfing stages, which is works. Using the circle pad makes you move. Using the A button makes you throw your kunai at someone. Pressing the B button makes you jump. By using X makes you to take out your chain to hold on to stuff. Also using Y makes you to use your katana, and pressing R dodges. The controls them self aren't broken, but wall jumping can be annoying sometimes.
Final Verdict:
The game itself is fun, and challenging. The game also has tons of replay value and unlockables. The only thing I didn't like about this game is the music, some platforming, and the main story is a little BIT short. Overall I recommend it to not everyone, but only those who like platformers, hardcore gamers, or are fans of Shinobi.
+ Fun and Challenging
+ Tons of Unlockables
+ High Replay Value
- Weird Platforming at Time
- Outdated Graphics
Overall - 7.8/10

Nimble Sakura Warrior Review (3DS)
Publisher: Nintendo
Developer: Nintendo
Features: Pedometer, 3D
Genre: Action, Like Punch-Out
For: 3DS eShop
Story: One day blossom princess bla bla bla you must save princess bla bla bla kappa bla bla bla you are hero bla bla honestly who cares about the story.
Gameplay: The gameplay in the Sakura Warrior is much like Punch-Out. You have to dodge and attack enemies at the right time. You mostly go around stages killing a hoard of enemies, and sometimes bosses that reminded me of fighters in Punch-Out. You can also stop in towns to buy weapons, food, sleep, and upgrade and sharpen your sword. They are also mini-games in each town you visit, like slicing watermelons. Playing these mini-games will earn you gold or stamps that you can use to get prizes. In battles you just can’t keep slashing your sword; in fact it might even break your sword. You need to be smart slashing your opponents. You can also level-up your sword at the blacksmith, and preform special moves when the sword meter is complete. They are also different modes such as the Rock Garden, which when you walk with your 3DS your trees will grow and make your garden look damn sexy ;D. Some other modes include a Challenge mode which makes you defeat waves of enemies, with only limited health. The story mode itself only takes 4-5 hours, and the modes and mini-games make the game even longer. The game can get repetitive at times, and I also hated that if you died in a boss fight you have to do the whole long level again. The game is still much much fun, and is worth seven dollars.
Graphics: The textures in the game look so blurry, such as the doors in the villages’. But other things such as the character models, the map, and some buildings look nice, and even better in 3D. Overall the graphics aren’t spectacular, but gets the job done for this type of game.
Sound: The music which plays in the background seems fitting for this type of game. If you played any games based on Feudal Japan, then you know what to expect. The sound effects range from the slashing of a sword, to you throwing frogs at people :D. The music is overall nice and fitting for this type of samurai game.
Controls: The controls in this game are very simple. You use the circle pad to move, B to dodge, A to attack, the D-Pad to use items’, and Y to perform a special move. The controls are very fluid and I had absolutely no problem with them.
Final Verdict: You are getting enough content for seven dollars, and the gameplay can be really awesome at time, but can also get repetitive. So I can recommend this to you if you like Punch-Out, or just want a great game.
What I Enjoyed:
+Enough Content
+Fun and Easy Gameplay
+Extra modes
What I disliked:
-Sometimes Repetitive
-Blurry Textures
Score: 7.9 – 10 = GOOD!
