We heard that Angry Birds would be coming to the 3DS. Then things went quiet and we heard nothing more about it. I figured the project had been canned. But Peter Vesterbacka of Rovio, the company that makes Angry Birds has confirmed that they’ll “have [their] games on the 3DS pretty soon.” I’m not keen to play the game myself, but I am interested to see how well it does on a “traditional” handheld platform.
This above photo was taken at EB Games. As you can see in the middle row, there are boxes with cover art for Donkey Kong 3D, a game that hasn’t been announced. This could easily enough be a mistake, or it could be something. What makes it feel like this is on the “something” end of the scale is the person who took the photo clarified that they were able to pay money to preorder the game, so EB Games believes it exists.
A listing has also appeared on Multiplayer.com, and I’m really hoping this is simply not a weird data error, as Donkey Kong is my favorite character from Nintendo. But for now, it is most definitely a rumor.
